Dale Gieringer, PH.D.
This poster was commissioned by UCLA Campus Events for their invited speaker, Dr. Dale Gieringer. Gieringer is a leading figure in the movement to legalize marijuana, and is the co-author of Proposition 215. In order to represent the controversy behind this issue, and the strong opinions citizens have about the legalization of marijuana for medical use, we decided to create a poster that could be read in two ways. If help right side up, the poster represents the perspective of those in favor of the legalization, providing the text of prop 215, and other language representing the positive aspects of the legalization of marijuana. If held upside down, the poster provides all of the cons of the drug confirmed by typography reading "no way" along with an exclamation point on the cannabis leaf. Thus, a politically correct poster on the issue of marijuana legalization was born. :)
